Skydive Spaceland’s Coronavirus Response

We are deeply focused on keeping our team, our customers, and our guests safe while enjoying the skies over Spaceland. The coronavirus pandemic and the resulting stay-home shutdowns have been a difficult time for everyone worldwide, and restarting business in a way that our staff and our customers feel reasonably safe is a multifaceted challenge. Skydiving is all about having fun while minimizing risk–that’s one thing that definitely hasn’t changed. 🙂

Here are a few notes on our current COVID-19 control practices. We’ll likely be modifying procedures as guidelines evolve, so stay tuned. We are all in this together and we are really looking forward to flying with you!

Please don’t visit us right now if:

  • You are ill now
  • You have been ill with COVID-19 or exposed to any ill people confirmed to have COVID-19 within the last 14 days
  • You have any of the following symptoms:
    • Coughing
    • Sneezing
    • Fever higher than 100º Fahrenheit
    • Shortness of breath
  • If you are over 65 years of age, current guidelines suggest that you shelter at home for now due to increased risk of severe illness if you do contract COVID-19. We would suggest you wait until those guidelines are lifted to skydive, but that is of course your call.

  1. Observe 6-foot social distance whenever possible, indoors and out. This includes our office.
  2. Wear a mask indoors and in training areas.
  3. Wash your hands with soap for at least 20 seconds after using the restroom, after skydiving (you know you probably touched your face when you put on your helmet, sunnies, or goggles) and frequently throughout the day.
  4. Pack it in, pack it out. If you bring personal items here, take them with you when you leave unless you are renting a locker and they are stored inside. Remember, NO FOOD of any kind may be stored in lockers.
  5. Note: Everyone should bring their own masks/hand sanitizer. We will issue you a disposable mask if you don’t have one.
  6. We will be filling loads and manifesting normally.
  7. Please don’t socially distance from your tandem instructor in freefall. 😉

Face masks or neck buffs worn as face masks are required for:

  • Everyone when they are indoors.
  • Maintenance staff cleaning/disinfecting the facility
  • Pilots when customers are on board
  • Any passengers in our aircraft until jump run or as late as is practical before exit. Full face helmets with the visor closed count as masks.

Gloves are required for:

  • Staff who are cleaning/disinfecting the facility only. Feel free to bring gloves and wear them if you would like.

We have cleaned out all personal items from common areas such as the packing room and training areas and sanitized all areas. Please help us keep our facility clean by not leaving personal items at the drop zone unless they are in a locker you rent.

    • Restrooms and all handles (to interior/exterior doors, sinks, toilets, and urinals)
    • All seating and tables in classrooms, office, ground floor training areas, and back porch areas
    • Airplane mockups, particularly floater bars and door frame
    • Loading area benches and ladders

Throughout the day

    • Office work areas (counters, STP computers)
    • Disinfect pens when they come back from customers

  • Daily: Window seals, seat belt buckles, and floater bars
  • Between loads: Floater bars and window seals

Packing room

  • Stagger pack jobs in opposite directions
  • Please maintain 6-foot social distancing
  • If the packing room starts getting crowded enough to compromise social distancing, please relax outside if you are not packing at the moment.
  • Pack it in, pack it out. If you bring personal items here, take them with you when you leave unless you are renting a locker and they are stored inside. Remember, NO FOOD of any kind may be stored in lockers.

Other changes

  • All tables and seating will be spaced at least 6 feet apart to observe social distancing guidelines
  • Hand sanitizing stations have been installed throughout our facility

Loading areas

  1. Reserved for active jumpers on a call
  2. Mask required
  3. Wash/sanitize hands before entering these areas
  4. Please only use mockups if needed to successfully complete the skydive

In the aircraft

  1. Any passengers should wear masks until jump run or as late as is practical before exit. Full-face helmets with the visor closed count as masks.
  2. Note: Everyone should bring their own masks/hand sanitizer.
  3. Please, no handshakes, high fives or fist bumps for now.
  4. Pack it in, pack it out: Do not leave ANYTHING on our airplanes.

  1. How many people are allowed in the plane to jump / are you observing 6 ft guidelines inside the plane (aka will it be packed)?
Also it’s my boyfriend’s birthday so we were gonna give him his first jump and he has a military discount. If I pay up front, can the discount be applied later or should I pay with him when we come in?

    1. Hi Sara, thanks for your interest in jumping with us! We are not keeping people six feet apart in the aircraft, but we are requiring that everyone (instructors, students, pilots, everyone) sanitize their hands and wear a mask in the airplane until they jump. Also, that’s going to be a fantastic birthday gift for your boyfriend! It may be easiest for you to call us to get everything booked the way you want and so we can answer any questions you may have: 281-369-3337. If you would rather book online, you can book your boyfriend’s military rate here: and your own here: Just make sure he brings his military ID for verification. We look forward to flying with you both!

    1. Absolutely! Just bring a mask for the times you will be inside (restrooms, walking through the hangar, etc.). You can remove it while outdoors in the spectator area if you like. See you soon!

    1. Hi Lynn, come on out! We fly Thursdays-Mondays and our office is open 7 days a week to answer your questions and help you get booked to skydive! 770-748-2200
